Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) is a federally funded program that provides access to affordable housing services to individuals living with HIV or AIDS and their families. Emergency assistance is available if there is immediate risk of becoming homeless. HOPWA also provides assistance for individuals who experience difficulty meeting rental payments due to their HIV diagnosis.

The HOPWA program in North Dakota is called Tri-State HELP (Housing Environments for Living Positively). For more information about Tri-State HELP, please call Community Action Program Region VII, Inc. at 1-800-223-0364 (in North Dakota) or 701-258-2240 (out of state.).
